Today we are going to talk about WHY we reject some images. <- Sense people get easy offended by not getting accepted, we are gladly to let you know all about it!
My Co-Founder is going to talk about the topics bellow and I agree to his thoughts.
PS. This is something we posted in 2014. But we think new people might want to see this again in the journal.

The topics:
-Portraits
-Static pictures
-Medium matters
-We ignore fads
-Fetish work or pornography
-Gore does not badass make
-Being a horrible person doesn’t make you badass
-Quality matters
-Badass matters
-Shonen news flash!
-Colorization is fine, but..

I don’t like rejecting. Unless it is inappropriate for our group. Then I reject with zeal. To save the time of people submitting stuff to our group, and ours, I thought I’d go over some recurring problems I’ve been seeing lately.
So reasons why I reject:

Portraits
Your character had very obviously be badass if all you’re given me is a face shot.  That goes double for EXPRESSIONLESS portraits.

Static pictures
There’s a ton of pictures out there that just have the character standing there.  Doing nothing.  Is it so much to make them do SOMETHING?  Heck our current contest, Will to Badass, REQUIRES the character to be engaging in an activity.

Medium matters
Sometimes we get people trying to submit things that aren’t accepted mediums, like photo-manipulation, G-mods, sculpture, etc.  Read the group rules people.  You are wasting your time and ours.

We ignore fads
We don’t care if something is a meme, popular or topical.  Our requirements of badass and quality are eternal.  It could be the hugest thing ever, but if it doesn’t meet our requirements, out it goes.

Fetish work or pornography
I’ll admit this one can be dicey.  A lot of badass characters have impressive physiques and sexual prowess is often taken as a sign (or reward) for badassery.  There are definitely some things in our gallery which are border line.  However, there’s a good amount of stuff I’ve rejected which is obvious.  We don’t want visible groins.  We don’t want sexual activity.  We don’t want weird fetishes.

Gore does not badass make
Don’t get me wrong.  There are plenty of badass characters that generate a whole lot of gore and some villains are really nasty.  However, gore on its own does not make a picture badass.  I’ve rejected a lot of zombie pictures because they are just rotting corpses walking around.  They aren’t badass.

Being a horrible person doesn’t make you badass
This one is controversial, but needs to be said.  Are there plenty of anti-heroes and villains who are badass in the world of fiction?  Yes, certainly.  However, we have to be careful when it comes to real world people.  Remember, badass is a term of praise.  I don’t care how badass you think this dictator or gangster is we aren’t interested in glorifying him or her.

Quality matters
I’ve seen a lot of good groups inundated because they’ll accept any art regardless of quality.  There are plenty of groups out there that are dedicated to helping you become a better artist or showcase your work regardless of quality.  We, however, demand a certain level of quality.  We refuse to dilute the quality of our gallery by lowering our standards.  We want our members and watchers to be thrilled every time we show new pictures.  We want people to say, “Heck yeah!  More winners from Badass-Characters!”  We don’t want people saying, “Great.  More spam from this group.”

Badass matters
This is like the previous category, but instead badass.  Basically, the character needs to be obviously badass within the context of the work, or be renowned as badass.  I should note “within the context of the work,” does not include comments or even the title of the picture.

Shonen news flash!-
This is a special category.  First, we love shonen, like Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, etc.  Great source of badass material.  However, there is a very specific kind of art that seems to crop up with these that I always reject.  I call them the Shonen News Flash.  Basically a fan will take some pivotal or important scene from the manga, color it and post it for all to see.  This baffles me because… (from anybodys point of view also)
• If I care about the series, but haven’t gotten to that part of the story, you’ve just thrown a giant spoiler in my face.
• If I care about the series, and I have gotten that far, what’s the point of showing it to me?
• If I don’t care about the series, I’m not going to care at all.
So yeah, I always reject these on principle.

Colorization is fine, but..
It’s totally cool with us if you didn’t draw the original picture but colored this version.  Be sure to credit the original artist though.  Also, beware.  Depending on the work and situation, there might be lots of people coloring the same thing.  We don’t want fifteen different versions of the same thing.  This is related to..

Feel free to post questions, comments and the like concerning these policies.  We’ll gladly clarify.

Where is the founder? Because non-quality work keeps showing up in your folders.
